RAKAT CT relies heavily on volunteers to provide essential community transport and support for all kinds of community groups in the London Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston.<\/p>

We are always very happy to welcome new volunteers. This could be the start of a richly rewarding new adventure! Why not call us on 020 8942 1746<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0or 020 8942 1745<\/strong><\/a> and ask for Maria or email us<\/a>,<\/strong> or even just drop in for a cup of tea and a chat?<\/p>

Volunteer Drivers<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>

We need volunteers to drive the minibuses for community groups and organisations that do not have qualified drivers themselves. Could this be you? \u00a0We provide all the necessary training for qualification to the nationally certificated MIDAS standard, and also on how to operate passenger lifts and secure \"\"wheelchairs to ensure the safety of passengers.<\/p>

Volunteer Helpers<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>

Sometimes our clients need a little bit of assistance to make their trip with us both enjoyable and successful. For example, the elderly, frail, or disabled may need help with their trolleys when they go shopping or when carrying bags to their front doors. It all depends on the nature of our passengers and the nature of the trip. A friendly face and a keen willingness to help are all that\u2019s required!<\/span><\/p>

How much time would I need to give to drive or help?<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>

Simply, as much or as little as you are happy to give. Some volunteers help on a weekly basis (from a few hours to a day or two) and others far more occasionally. Basic expenses may be covered.\u00a0We are happy and grateful for whatever you want to do. Our various activities have varying time commitments so we can always find an activity to suit.<\/p>

Trustees<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>

We are currently seeking new Trustees. \u00a0If you feel you have skills that could be useful to our Board of Trustees e.g. Fund Raising, Legal, HR, IT, etc, we would love to hear from you. \u00a0The Board of Trustees meets four times per year plus an AGM and support outside these formal meetings is welcomed.<\/p>
